Administrator Edita S. Bueno was the keynote speaker of the 36th Annual National Convention of the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers (IIEE) of the Philippines held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City on November 24, 2011.

AdministratorNEAThe Administrator said, “The Rural Electrification Program is faced with the issue of compliance with the building codes in relation to submissions of electrical plans duly signed by a Professional Electrical Engineers (PEE). We ask the IIEE to support the rural electrification program by allowing Registered Electrical Engineers to certify house wiring plans and diagrams for our marginalized consumers whose houses are made of indigenous materials.”

She cited that Electrical Engineers are builders of power plants and systems. Hence, they have a great responsibility in the task of nation building. Thus, she asked them to do more and motivate each other to reach a higher meridian. She enjoined them to build more efficient, greener and environment-friendly systems and extend lines further so that farm areas can become more productive, schools can become more technology-driven, tourist destinations be more lighted and safe, hospitals be more fully-equipped with state of the art facilities and population’s access to internet and cable services be readily available.

Likewise, Lanao del Sur Electric Cooperative, Inc. (LASURECO) General Manager Ashary P. Maongco, was awarded the 2011 Most Outstanding Electrical Engineer for Government. Under GM Maongco’s leadership, the once beleaguered cooperative is slowly making headway towards operational improvement.Ashary-Maongco
